Donald "Don" Frank Gates, 71, husband of Linda Evanoff Gates, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Don was born in Lakewood, OH, to Wanda Michalski Gates and the late Donald Frederick Gates. He was a graduate of Southwestern Michigan College and North Olmsted High School, where he and Linda met. He retired from Tyler Elevator.

He attended North Hills Community Church, was an avid collector, liked Classic Rock, had a great sense of humor, and was a fan of NASCAR, when Jeff Gordon was still driving.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his adult children, Jen Gates, Tim Gates, and Laura Chlam, and his adult stepchildren, Alex Cadman (Jan), and Matt Cadman (Logan Adderley), his mother, his sister, Janice Melbar, two grandchildren, Lincoln and Audrey, and three step-grandchildren, Thatcher, Teagan and Tenley.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at 11 o’clock on Saturday 14th, at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn. The family will receive friends at Fletcher immediately following the service.
