Bill Whipple Obituary

William Donald “Bill” Whipple, 70, devoted husband of Joleen Elaine Thomas Whipple, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Bill was born in Macon, GA on December 24, 1953 and lovingly raised by the late John Franklin Whipple, Jr., and Sara Anne Hawkins Whipple. He started his career in the textile industry field and eventually became a realtor and property manager for REMAX Realty Professionals. Bill was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and was the Congregational Care Coordinator. He loved golf, softball, fishing, music, and searching for new recipes and restaurants. He was a member of the Lyons Club and an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan. Some of Bill’s favorite pastimes were going to Lake Robinson with Joleen, and participating in community theater with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three children: Sarah Marchbanks, Sam Whipple (Kati), and Shelley Whipple (Riley); four grandchildren, Alanna Marchbanks, James Marchbanks, Jr., Abbi Whipple, and Ellary Bartz; a sister, Cheryl Morrison (Jamie) and his beloved dog, Tucker.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be 2pm on Sunday, September 15 at Disciples United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Bill Whipple Care Fund at Disciples UMC.
