Richard William “Ricky” Waddell, 64, husband of Terry Jean Leonard Waddell, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Mr. Waddell was born in Greer to the late J.B. Waddell and Lucy Mae DeYoung Waddell. He was a member of Church at the Mill and retired from Honeywell Aerospace after 35 years of service. Ricky served as the soundman for Everlasting Hope, who had a prison ministry; and served 13 years with wife, Terry as a leader with Celebrate Recovery.
Ricky volunteered his time as a bus driver for the Brynes High School Rebel Regiment for 15 years, as a shuttle driver for Dorman High School, and as a youth group leader. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his family and loved being “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Caleb Waddell (Jennifer); a daughter, Carrie Jo Waddell and three grandchildren, Nathan Crunkilton, Ryan Crunkilton, and Hattie Waddell.
Funeral services will be 2 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service, Woodruff. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in Sharon Methodist Church cemetery.
