Harry Lee Knight, Sr., 79, husband to the late Judy Ann Tucker Knight for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Mr. Knight was born in Laurens to the late Robert Lee Knight and Geneva Campbell Knight. He was the co-owner and operator of Knight Brothers Construction Company. Harry enjoyed racing of all sorts – being a dirt track racer himself and supporting his son “Junior” in go-kart racing. He was a huge NASCAR fan and a collector of NASCAR and John Deere memorabilia. He was an avid fisherman, but his greatest joy was being Papa to his grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Smith and Karen Mann with husband Charlie; a sister, Darlene Cooper; eight grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Roger Knight, Josh Harvey with wife Nicole, Amber Roberts, Michael Knight, Austin Harvey, Bradley Knight and Emilee Harvey; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, H.L. “Junior” Knight, Jr.; a brother, Gene Knight; and a granddaughter, Ashley Smith.

A Celebration of Harry’s Life will be 4 o’clock Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service – Woodruff. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
