Gary Davis Obituary

Gary Phillip Davis, 72, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2024.




Mr. Davis was born in Greenville to the late Lewie Russell Davis and Rose Mary Dickerson Davis. He was a lifetime member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church and served as a UMYF leader for many years. He retired after a 40-year career as a physical therapist. Following retirement, he operated an ice-cream truck at daycares, events and churches for many years and was affectionally known as “The Ice Cream Man”. Gary enjoyed fishing, woodworking, beach music and shagging. He loved watching high school and college football and pulled for the Clemson Tigers.




Surviving are two daughters, Amy Pace (Gabriel) and Donna Sanders (Michael); a brother, Dariel Davis (Cheryl); a sister, Angie Carter (Richard); nine grandchildren, Ashton Costagliola, Deanna Cannon, Christopher Cannon, Grace Pace, Jeremiah Pace, Khloe Pace, Cole Sanders (Darion), Dylan Sanders, and Breonna Sanders: and a great-grandchild, Brooklynn Land. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Davis and a sister, Shelby Hines.




Funeral Services will be will be 1:30pm Friday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.




In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
