Obituary of Ilse Perea

Ilse Poeten Perea, 93, wife of Alvaro Lacey Perea for 66 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Mrs. Perea was born in Goch, Germany to the late Max Albert Poeten and Liselotte Unruh Poeten.  She loved swimming and participating in Masters Swim meets.  Ilse had a green thumb and could grow any flower imaginable.  She was an excellent cook and an award winning quilter.  Ilse was a founding member of the Cobblestone Quilters Guild in Charleston, SC. 

Surviving, in addition to her husband Alvaro, their son, Maurice Perea with his wife Karen; a sister, Doris Ancheta with her husband Adrian; son-in-law John Keitt Hane; five grandchildren, Stefan Perea with wife Jennifer, Samantha Perea Broadwater with husband Ethan, Darby Sherman with husband Ben, Johnny Hane and Max Hane; and a great-grandson, Barrett Perea.  She was predeceased by their daughter, Lisa Perea Hane.

 A private ceremony is planned at this time.
