Alan David Mauritz, 87, husband to Marilyn Francis Mauritz for 62 years, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Alan was born in Chicago, IL to the late Gottlieb William Mauritz and Esther Goldberg Mauritz. He was a US Army veteran and retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. after over 30 years of service. Alan served on the Revis Falls HOA for 20 years. He was an avid poker player, loved classic movies, HO scale model trains, and working on jigsaw puzzles. In his early years he played baseball. Alan also enjoyed following sports and sports statistics.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, John Mauritz (Marianna) and Bill Mauritz (Leah); two grandsons, Austin Mauritz (Bethany) and Jake Mauritz (Sara Ann); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Molly Hanford and Linda Thaw.

The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30pm Thursday at Five Forks Baptist Church 112 Batesville Rd. Simpsonville. Private burial to follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.
