Obituary of Larry Marshbanks, Sr.

Larry Ronald Marshbanks, Sr., 81, husband of Linda Simms, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Mr. Marshbanks was born in Greenville to the late George Washington Marshbanks and Helen Evans Marshbanks. He was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. Larry was a graduate of Furman University and loved going to their football games. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and woodworking.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are a son, Ron Marshbanks (Sally); a daughter, Gena Austin (Chad); a brother, Andrew Marshbanks; a sister, Judy Wellman; six grandchildren, Austin Marshbanks, Addy Chapman, Brady Brewer, Peyton Brewer, Trenton Austin and Caden Austin and two great-grandchildren, Eli Marshbanks and Knox Marshbanks. He was predeceased by three brothers, Johnnie Marshbanks, Doug Marshbanks and Waymon Marshbanks and a sister, Connie Carnell.

Funeral Services will be 2 o’clock Monday at Five Forks Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
