Malcolm Evans Obituary

Malcolm Hill Evans, 78, husband of Susan Higginbotham Evans for 56 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2024.


Mr. Evans was born in Athens, GA to the late Price Monroe Evans and Alva Jo Hill Evans. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he served many years as the NBS refreshment coordinator, director of the Tract Ministry and as president of Men of the Word. Malcolm retired from Bob Jones University after 32 years of service. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and had a passion to win others to the Savior. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, wood carving and collecting knives. He enjoyed the mountains and the beaches. He was a fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs.


Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ben Evans with wife Debbie, and Jon Evans; a sister, Joyce Chapman; two grandchildren, Lincoln Evans and Mariana Evans; and a nephew, Clint Chapman with wife Tammy.


A Celebration of Malcolm’s Life will begin at 12:30 pm Thursday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Coleman Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service between 11 am and 12 noon.
