Mamie Lou Christopher Barton, 89, widow of William Robert “Bob” Barton, Sr. went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Mrs. Barton was born in Greer to the late Oren McKowen “OM” Christopher and Gladys Eleanor Ward Christopher. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and was an Alumna of Anderson College. Mom has always been the bond of love that is the backbone of every large family. She saw the good in everyone she met and cared for everyone she came in contact with. Mamie laughed and cried with her children. Her love for God and family had no boundaries.

Surviving are a son, W.R. “Bobby” Barton, Jr. with wife Nini; a daughter, Cindy Godfrey with husband Shane; seven grandchildren, Brittany Damani with husband Travis, Lauren McGaha with husband Tim, Shelby Barton, Luke Barton, Pam Minkler with fiancé Kimberli, Chris Minkler with wife Carolyn, and Sheena Simpson with husband David; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Wallace Ward, Dean Christopher and Jack Christopher.

A Celebration of Mamie's Life will be 2 o’clock Tuesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00pm.
