Obituary of Rodie Rewis

Rodie Mae Bolden Chesney Rewis, 85, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Mrs. Rewis was born in Greenville County to the late J.D. Sullivan and Ruth Elizabeth Alverson Sullivan.  She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  She enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone, fishing and crocheting.  Rodie was a hard worker and always helped others, but her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving, are a son, Dewayne Chesney (Tammy); a daughter, Debra Barrett; a sister, Lucy Spillers; four grandchildren, Angela Garrett (Scott), Levi Chesney (Jen), Camron Chesney (Jill) and Delayne O’Donnell (Jacob) and six great-grandchildren, Hannah Garrett, Lucy Chesney, Bailey Chesney, Brooklyn Chesney, Lucas O’Donnell and Holland O’Donnell.  She was predeceased by her first husband of 22 years, Thomas Ollie Chesney and her second husband of 35 years, Willie Gene Rewis; two brothers, Frank Bolden and Gene Bolden; two sisters, Earline Lathan and Sara Alexander and a son-in-law, Charles Barrett.

Funeral Services will be 2 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Cannon Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice.
