Obituary of Rosalie Neves

Rosalie McGraw Neves, 99, widow of Frank Terry Neves, Sr. went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2024. Mrs. Neves was one of eight children and last surviving of her immediate family.

 

Mrs. Neves was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kenneth McCraw of Centerville, Mississippi. Rosalie and Frank married on July 5, 1947 and resided in Fountain Inn.  In her many years of service to her community, Rosalie was devoted member of her church serving as president of The Women’s Circle, Sunday School, and various other roles. Rosalie, along with her husband Frank, served faithfully as commissioners of Canebrake Fire District, since its formation in January 1985 until Rosalie retired at age of 90 in 2015. In many years of her last activities she was an avid gardener, notably with her tomatoes, quilting and serving with the Fountain Inn American Legion

 

Surviving, are two daughters, Margaret Seel (Mark) and Frances Laxton; four grandchildren, Brad Laxton (Misty), Eddie Laxton (Stacy), Chad Laxton (Liz) and Marty Seel; and six great-grandchildren, Savannah Laxton, Sarah Laxton, Lauren Laxton, Morgan Laxton, Emily Laxton, and Levi Laxton. She was predeceased in death by Frank Neves Sr. and their youngest child, Frank Terry Neves, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Raymond Laxton.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Fairview Presbyterian Church (cemetery fund) PO Box 1664, Fountain Inn, SC 29644 or to the Fountain Inn American Legion (treasurer, Margaret Seel), 1916 Fairview Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

 

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock Saturday at Fairview Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following. Burial will be private in Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
