Obituary of Lane Taylor

Please share a memory of Lane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather [Lane W. Taylor] passed away peacefully in his home on November 24, 2024 at the age of 90. He leaves behind his wife of almost 68 years, Barbara S. Taylor, his son, Ricky Taylor (wife Karyn) of Chapin SC, and a daughter, Tracy Graham (husband Douglas) of Matthews NC.  His legacy includes a granddaughter, Courtney Turner (husband Barrett); a grandson, Payton Graham; 2 great grandchildren, Charlotte & Cooper Turner; a great niece, Heather Williams (husband Jamie) and their daughter, Sullivan; a brother, Lowell Taylor (wife Jane); his in-laws, Gail & Bill Orbann and Bruce Stephens and many nieces and nephews.

Lane was the son of James Ewell & Essie Taylor.

Lane was a Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. He spent 34 years with John D Hollingsworth on Wheels before he retired.  Lane was a wonderful father, husband, brother and friend. He was loved by many and was always described as a “good man and a sweet man”.  He was a man of faith and loved the Lord.  He loved college football, especially South Carolina and Clemson.  He was fiercely loyal and committed to his family and always told us that “he loved us to pieces.”

The family would like to extend a thank you to Fountain Inn Post Acute, Amedisys Hospice and Visiting Angels who cared so well for Dad in his final days.   If you would like to make a donation in Lane’s honor, please donate to First Baptist Simpsonville, 3 Hedge Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
