Obituary of Tommy Barton
Thomas Lee “Tommy” Barton, 84, husband of Brenda Gail Brown Barton for 60 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Mr. Barton was born in Laurens to the late Niley James Barton and Marie Simmons Barton. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from Rudolph Penland Company. Tommy enjoyed reading and gospel music. He loved working and was always willing to help others. He was a collector of eagle figurines and enjoyed being “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Rudy Barton with wife Kellie; two daughters, René Barton and Lindsey Horn; a brother, David Barton; a sister, Grace Harrell with husband Jerry; five grandchildren, Justin Brown with wife Tabatha, Braxton Horn with fiancé Sierra, Trace Austin Barton, Logan Horn and Daisy Horn; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Barton and Robert Barton; two sisters, Letha Canty and Shirley Hinton; an infant son, Dweight Barton; and a granddaughter, Niki Barton.
A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will begin at 3 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn, SC. Military Honors will be rendered by the US Air Force Honor Guard.
