Obituary of Mary Owens

Willie Mary Owens, 80, of Fountain Inn entered her eternal home and into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 8, 2024.  She was surrounded by loved ones singing her favorite hymns in her home of over fifty years.  Mary is survived by her son Douglas Owens, Jr. (Katie Smith) and grandson Maxwell Owens of Martin TN, sister Susie Pitts of Fountain Inn, honorary daughter Cyndi Christen (Tony) of Fountain Inn, and by numerous loved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Owens, Sr. of Fountain Inn, her parents Warren and Dalma Stephens of Fountain Inn, father and mother Bruce and Willie Mary Heaton of Greenville and sister Willie Sims of Fountain Inn.

Mary was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church in Fountain Inn.  She enjoyed singing with the choir and participating in Bethany’s Fifth Sunday Singings.  She loved working in her yard and taking care of her beautiful flowers.  Taking great pride in her appearance, she was always dressed to impress from of a closet stocked by her nearly two-decade employment at Belk in Simpsonville.  

Her celebration of life will be held at Bethany Baptist Church at 134 Bethany Circle, Fountain Inn on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary’s honor to the Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund or to Bon Secours Hospice by Compassus, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville SC 29680.
