Obituary of Chuck Painter

Charles Wendell “Chuck” Painter, 58, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Mr. Painter was the son of Charles Leonard Painter and Frances Kathleen Parker Painter.  Chuck was the youngest Charter Member of Five Forks Baptist Church – signing the church charter when he was 8 years old.  He served many years on the Hospitality Committee and as the church custodian.  He was an alumnus of the University of South Carolina, but his heart will forever be with the Clemson Tigers.  Chuck served many years on the Event Staff escorting potential recruits to various Clemson sporting events – mainly football.  He served on the Election Commission for both Greenville and Spartanburg counties.  Chuck will be remembered for his cleanliness and being tidy – never allowing any thing or place under his stewardship to be unkept.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sons, Josh Sorrells with wife Mallory, and Nathan Painter with wife Jessica; and four grandchildren, Dawson, Maddox, Oaklee and Wrenlee.  He was predeceased by a sister, Kimber Painter. 

The family will receive friends between 5 – 7 o’clock Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will begin at 2 o’clock Thursday at Five Forks Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
