Sandra was born in Knoxville Tennessee.

She was the daughter of her late father Shelby James Shipley and her late mother Sylivia Lucille Riggs Shipley.

Sandra, best known as Sandy to family and friends. She was a familiar face to many who patronized the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store  on Grandview Drive Simpsonville SC.

She moved back to Simpsonville when her grandson was born back in 2001. She served as a hostess for more than 20 years. She loved her co-workers, to name a few, Brenda, Beverly, Jeane, Donna and all the other workers and her Managers, Chris and Derek.

She loved talking with the customers as well.

She also was a former secretary and bookkeeper of Markdown Homes, Inc. in Mauldin S.C.

Sandra was full of life. One of her favorite things to do was to have her porch full of flowers and plants and sitting outside while reading. and listening to music. She loved her beach family vacation sitting on the balcony reading, playing  cards, walking on the beach and having a toddy.  Some of her favorite hobbies were knitting, trying new recipes and going to Estate and Yard sale with her daughter in law and best friend Donna May, Mickey Palmateer and Brent Reid. Sometimes even her granddog Trolley would come along at times. She also liked to collect all  types of Santa Clauses. As a family tradition that she and her grandson James had was to always decorate her Christmas tree together. To James she was Maw.

Surviving is her son Tim May and his wife Donna of Simpsonville SC

A grandson James May of Simpsonville SC and extended family Marty Dyke of Knoxville TN.

She was predeceased by her brother Bill Shipley and her sister Sharon Hogan, both of Knoxville TN.
