Obituary of Wilma King
Wilma Lois Woods King, 98, widow of Herman Earl King, passed away at home on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Erskine and Alma Faye Weathers Woods.
Wilma enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and going out to eat. She loved the beach and spending time on the front porch drinking coffee. She was a member of First Baptist Church Fountain Inn.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Louise Edmondson; four grandchildren, Jamie McAbee (Glenda); Eric Edmondson (Sandy), Helen Lanier (Donald), and Ellen Mason; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Gavin McAbee; special friends Calvin and Ruth Mason and Joe Eudy; and her beloved dog, Chewy. In addition to her husband and parents, Wilma was preceded in death her son-in-law, William Edmondson; two brothers, Buck Woods and Bob Woods; and two sisters, Edna Tollison and Mary Jennings.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Fletcher Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
