On the morning of August 13, 2016, Pa Ed Wimpey, loving and devoted husband of Sandy Gresham Wimpey, passed from this earthly life to his eternal home in Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior. Mr. Wimpey was born in Pickens to Frances T. Wimpey and the late Grady H. Wimpey. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Tabernacle Church and loved traveling to the mountains and beach. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are three sons, Eddie Wimpey (Cathy), Roger Wimpey (Lisa) and Josh Wimpey (Kristen); a step-daughter, Kayla Mason (Scott); his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Winnie Gresham; a brother-in-law, Stevie Gresham; his best buddy, Aaron Gresham; eleven grandchildren, Lance Wimpey, Austin Wimpey, Savannah Wimpey, Lyndsie Wimpey, Madison Wimpey, Tabetha Wimpey, Karlee Wimpey, Chase Wimpey, Myla Mason, Sophie Mason and Tucker Mason; four great-grandchildren, Ava Wimpey, Tyler Wimpey, Ema Grace Wimpey and Karsyn Wimpey; five brothers, Tommy Wimpey, Steve Wimpey, Rickey Wimpey, Richard Wimpey and Kenneth Wimpey; one sister, Carolyn Simmons and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Wimpey. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, 156 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
