Obituary of Newberne Watson Cook

Newberne Watson Cook, 82, husband of Georgia Hawkins Cook, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Mr. Cook was born December 25, 1934 in Laurens County to the late Alvin Clyde Cook and Josie Cox Cook.  He was formerly employed with Hollingsworth for 51 years and a charter member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the S.C. National Guard.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Terry Cook and wife Gloria; a daughter, Kay Dunagan and husband Roger; four step-daughters, Brenda Curtiss, Kathy Curtiss, Patty Fasig and husband Bill, and Pamela Berthume and husband Greg; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Thelma Wilson Cook; a brother, Everette Cook; and a sister, Katherine Rice.

Funeral Services will be 2:30pm Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  A private burial will be held on Tuesday.
