Obituary of Mildred Wood Lancaster
Mildred Dorothy Wood Lancaster, 95, widow of Rev. Leon Lewis Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2017.
Mrs. Lancaster was born in Simpsonville to the late Fritz Lee Wood and Nannie Blanche Crisp Wood. She served as a music director and Sunday school teacher at various churches where her husband also served as a pastor. She was a devoted member of Clear Spring Baptist Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed camping and was an avid reader.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Lewis and Eileen Lancaster, and Jimmy and June Lancaster; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Randy Goodwin; six grandchildren, Janie Smith and her husband Jimmy, Lori Clodfelter and her husband Geoffrey, Joy Goodwin, Julie Nunn and her husband Lee, Mark Lancaster and his wife Carrie and Christie Disher with her husband Phil; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Bryce, Garrett and Landon Smith, Eli, Oliver and Alex Clodfelter, Vance and Greyson Clark, Hannah, Zac and Anna Kate Nunn, Easton and Mollie Lancaster, and Kylie Disher.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Fred and Troy Wood; and a sister, Geraldine Brown.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clear Spring Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. David Shiflet and Rev. Martin Atkins. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
