Obituary of Marie Kellow Corry
On Friday, January 12, 2018, Marie Kellow Corry slipped away peacefully in her sleep, attended by Angel’s Choirs to her Father in Heaven. She was the widow of The Rev. Frank Corry, and is survived by her daughter, Jennifer and her husband Terry Schofield; and her son, Donald Corry and his wife Lyn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather C. Briggs (Chuck), Jason T. Schofield (Hope) and Jeffery C. Schofield (Jana). She loved and was so proud of her great-grandchildren, Lochlan, Caleb, Levi, Taylor, Sierra, Jackson, Charlotte, and Sullivan Pearl.
Marie was a devoted and caring pastor’s wife who served the church along side of her husband. For many years she was a Secretary for the FAA and the VA. In all that she did she never failed to lovingly help others who were in need.
Marie and her husband retired to Lake Bryant in Central Florida where they both continued their ministry to others. Marie was, by herself, a wonderful and loving person; but she even more so loved and enjoyed her family. After her "Bud" passed away, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law and spent her time teaching and worshipping in her new church home, Standing Springs Baptist Church.
In the last few years of her life, she was given the gift of dedicated and loving care by the compassionate staff of PruittHealth Hospice, specifically the care of Tina, Tammy, and Jennifer. Her funeral services will be Monday, January 15, 2018 at Fletcher Funeral Service, 1218 N. Main Street Fountain Inn, SC. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM and will begin a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM. A brief graveside service and interment for friends and family in Florida will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL beside her beloved "Bud" on Wednesday, January 17 at 11:00 AM.
