Obituary of Linda Frances Jennings

Linda Frances Leopard Howard Jennings, 75, widow of Darvin Jennings, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2018.

Mrs. Jennings was born in Fountain Inn to the late Clyde Leopard and Minnie Beatrice Suttles Leopard.  She retired from the Beattie Plant and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.  She loved the “Young & Restless”, the “Price Is Right”, and wordsearch.  Linda enjoyed spending time at the lake, gossiping, and being “nanny” to her grandchildren.  She collected unicorn figurines.

Surviving are a son, David Earl Howard and wife Kay; four daughters, Brenda Smith and husband Jimmy, Diana Bennett, Alice Dudleson and husband Brent, and Betty Ward and husband Donny; two brothers, Sandford Leopard and wife Kathy, and Tommy Leopard; four sisters, Shirley Wakester, Barbara Terry and husband Richard, Alma Stevenson and husband Jerry, and Emmerlyne Leopard; twelve grandchildren, John David Howard and wife Christy, Crystal Thompson and husband Andre, Kacy Butts and husband John, Jennifer Ortscheid and husband Brian, Kevin Howard and wife Christin, James Releford and wife Cherie, Tabitha Spivey and fiancé Alex Bailey, Megan Dudleson and fiancé Matt Traynham, Travis Spivey and wife Rebecca, Brandon Ward, Josh Ward and Brenda Gail Bennett; twenty-six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Freda, Trey, Tyler, Piper, Addison, Josslyne, Hailee, Keri, Kenny, Orianna, Elizabeth, Colin, Landon, Chloe, Jonathan, Jacob, Haley, Chyanne, Victoria, Jayden, Hannah, Payton, Kristopher, Mackenzie; a great-great-granddaughter, Adalynn; and a special cousin, Mary Lou Davis.  She was predeceased by her first husband, David Lafayette Howard who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1965; and a sister, Annie Leopard.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. John Smith.  Burial will follow in Cannon Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2:30 p.m.
