I'm so sorry for your loss.
Cheryl was my best friend when we were growing up on Dagnall Circle. She was a beautiful, sensitive, fiery young girl. Although, it's been at least 30 years since I've seen her (maybe longer) I have thought of her often.
I remember she was way to young to drive when she started driving her mother's red Ford (Fairlane, I think) down the hill from her house to mine. I was always amazed by her adventurousness. When we would argue as friends do, she always won because she was much stronger willed than I was. I did lock her in our basement once, though, in a rare show of "I'm older than you." I let her out when she screamed and yelled and nearly banged the door down! I can still see her blond hair flying in the wind as she ran up the hill to her house.
I remember the evening she came to know Jesus. My family had recently started church and I'd just become a Christian. I was telling her about the second coming of Christ and she exclaimed, "Jane Putman! Why are you JUST now telling me about Jesus?" We then went to my mother who told Cheryl just how much God loved her.
I can't believe she's gone. I'm so sorry for your loss. Jessica, I've seen pictures of you and you look so much like her. Please know you are all in my prayers.
