David Stewart Simmons, 79, husband of Shirley Spillers Simmons for 60 years, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 19, 2018.

 

Mr. Simmons was born in Laurens County to the late William Murphy and Wilma Alverson Simmons.  He loved to eat out and watch TV, but what he loved the most was being with his wife and family.

 

Surviving, in addition to his wife are a son, Rob Simmons; a daughter, Debra Lynn Scott; granddaughter, Megan Lucas and husband, Kerry; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Lucas, Kira Lucas and Sierra Lucas.  He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Simmons and two sisters, Virginia Barbrey and Helen Chapman.

 

Funeral Services will be 2:30pm Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Graceland East Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
