Obituary of Lesley Freeman

Lesley Ronnie Freeman, 77, husband of the late Betty Jones Freeman, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

Born in Pickens County, he was a resident of Mauldin for 56 years and a son of the late Wilton T. and Pauline Freeman. He loved his family above all and also enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He was one of the first firemen hired full-time for the City of Mauldin Fire Department where he proudly served for over twenty years before retiring. He loved working with his hands and came from a long line of builders and cabinet makers. Lesley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many and a Charter Member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Sammy Lynn Freeman (Caryn); two grandchildren, Samuel “Garrett” Freeman (Katie) and Savannah Deal Freeman (Seth); and six siblings, Evelyn Taylor, Nora McCraw, Margie Jones (Raymond), Rodney Freeman (O’dell), Joan Perzak (Ted), and Carol Satterfield (Gerald). In addition to his lovely bride of 57 years, he was also predeceased by his beloved son, Douglas Edmond Freeman; and five siblings, Thelma Smith, Cody Davis, Herbert Freeman, Clayton Freeman and Myra Smith.

Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service, with burial to follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church cemetery.
