Obituary of William Floyd Scott

William “Floyd” Scott, 88, husband to the late Wilma Scott, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

 

Mr. Scott was born in Greenwood to the late James William Scott and Ivy Davis Scott.  He retired from the Greenwood Commission of Public Works after 32 years. He also owned and operated Scott Trenching.  He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.  Floyd enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.

 

Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Neely and husband Earl; two brothers and their wives, Ned and Frances Scott, and Joe and Nyoda Scott; a sister, Peggy Gardo; a grandson, Jonathan Neely and wife Melissa; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Charlie Neely.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Roy Scott and Murray Scott; and three sisters, Jean Watts, Louise Brown, and Lois Major.

 

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 p.m. Saturday at South Greenwood Assembly of God Church. 

 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, followed by burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. 

 

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
