Obituary of Wofford Woods

Wofford Nash Woods, 78, husband of the love of his life Elizabeth “Lib” Pressley Woods for fifty-nine years, passed into eternal life with Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

 

Mr. Woods was born in Gray Court to the late Fred and Doris Woods.  He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school Director and teacher, Deacon Emeritus, and treasurer.  He had perfect attendance in Sunday school for thirty-nine years.   He retired from Belks after twenty-five years, and from Greg Woods Service Center after sixteen years.  Wofford was a board member of the Laurens County Water & Sewer Commission for nine years and also served as a board member of the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce.  He served as the Green Pond Fire Department Commissioner for seven years, serving as the president for one year.  He was a member of the Gray Court-Owings Pleasantview PTO, and served as leader for two years.

 

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Greg and Tina Woods, and Adam and Marcie Woods; a sister, Kim Bailey and husband Carl; three grandchildren, Kristen Goodman and husband Matt, Kaitlan Hawkins and husband Daniel, and Grayson Woods; and two great-grandchildren. 

 

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

 

Funeral services will be 3 pm Sunday at Beulah Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
