Obituary of Doris Chappell Johnson

Doris Ann Chappell Johnson, 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2018.

 

Mrs. Johnson was born in Pickens to the late Isaac Walker Chappell Sr. and Agnes Virginia Stegall Chappell.  She retired from Kemet Electronics and Wal-Mart.  She was a member of Praise Cathedral and loved gospel music.  She was an avid bird watcher and a lover of nature.

 

Surviving are a son, Greg Johnson; a daughter, Rita Harrison and her husband Randall Harrison; two brothers, George Chappell and wife Debbie, and Isaac “Junior” Chappell; a sister, Carolyn Watford and husband Tyler; eight grandchildren, Logan Miles and husband Jon, Savannah Sanders and husband Aaron, Jason Johnson and wife Kayla, Robert Johnson and wife Brianne, Cayden Johnson, Randall Harrison, Ryan Harrison, and Ben Harrison; and four great-grandchildren, Rylan Norwood, Aspen Sanders, Rowan Sanders, and Braxstin Johnson.  She was predeceased by a sister, Pam Moody.

 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service, followed by burial in Graceland East Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
