We will miss this woman of God. She is now in the presence of her Saviour and healthy and whole! No one was more staunch in the defense of the unborn's right to live. If you want to honor her, come stand at the abortion clinic on Grove Road and attempt to intervene on behalf of the mothers and babies being exploited by the lie that is abortion in America. Ruth's efforts are part of the reason that our right to protest are still protected in the USA. Let's not let her sacrifices be in vain. I love you, Ruth and like you told me the last time I saw you......I will see you in heaven.

She was always smiling and always encouraging others. She fought for what she believed in and kept Christ the center of her life. She valued family and being together. Although I miss her terribly, I know she is home, in Heaven, with our Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity - a place she talked about to me often. She is healed and free from the pains of this world. Thankful for grace bestowed on us so that we are not separated from Him! It’s truly Amazing Grace - one of her favorites. Love you, Grandma.

Mark, Mr. Trippi and family I send my love and condolences. Mrs Trippi was so precious to me and I loved being around her going to church and Bible classes she conducted. She thought me a lot. Heaven is a richer sweeter place now. I pray God’s comfort peace grace and all encompassing love to be with you through all of this now and what is ahead.

I saw her as often as possible, and every time was different. She always made me smile and never failed to lead me in the right direction. To driving her to the chiropractor and stopping to get ice cream and not telling papa, to watching Judge Judy after school with her in her chair. She was the best grandma, and nobody can ever replace her.

I’ll never forget how every time grandma came to visit she would request a big bowl of ice cream and ask for me to play her favorite song, “Ode to Joy”, on the violin. She is greatly missed, but I’m happy she’s in heaven at peace with the Lord. Love you always, Grandma Buttons!

Some memories...
When Diane and I were young and got lost we always looked for her red hair.
Going grocery shopping and eating a whole bag of Cheetos and a Pepsi and finishing off with chocolate before we got home. We always took some of the munchies and hid them in the buffet and locked it to hide from the brothers.
Taking Diane and myself to the Spa every week.
She always had dinner on the table at 530 and taught us all to cook. She always tried new dishes and was the best cook! Favorite desert was her pineapple ice box cake....and when she made home made waffles at night with ice cream.
We moved so many times she was a pro at keeping everything in order and organized. She was a clean demon too.
She cared so much for others and always put her self last. All the children she took the time to save beyond the 6 she had. I know she is know having her favorite Ice cream and a nice spot of tea in her special tea cup.
So happy she is where she has dreamed about.

Aunt Ruth gave me many talks when her and Uncle Sam were visiting in NC. All the conversations trying to lead me to the Lord wasn’t forgotten. It took me till I was 22 but just know she had a great influence on me. Her love for the Lord was so visible for all to see. And our Christmases in Illinois will always be remembered! Love to all!

Sweet memory: in the days of no cell phones and no pick up hang tags, my sister and I would leave school to excitedly see both our mom’s car and our grandmother’s car in the car line. That meant one of us was going home but the other was about to have a surprise after school trip to TCBY (her favorite!) and we didn’t know whose turn it would be to go. She’d just show up at school and tell mom she was there to get me or one of my sisters (or a cousin from one of their schools) for an awesome treat! One on one time with just her and something sweet. I got my sweet tooth and my love for ice cream from her.
Funny memory: Grandma was know for having tea (I think she picked this up from her time in England) and hot chocolate for herself and all the grands. I was brought up to be thankful, never question adults (haha), and always always do what my grandparents said. I must have been 9 or 10. Well the packet she emptied into my mug looked different from my sisters’ and cousins’. “Grandma, are you sure that’s tea mix?”
“Of course erin it’s tea! Everyone else has tea.”
But that wrapper was foil... and there were little green pieces of something now floating in my mug.
“Are you really sure....?”
Not wanting to get in trouble or question my grandmother I took a sip.... and started choking. “Grandma! It’s top ramen seasoning!” Cough Cough Cough
And immediately, “Sammmmm! Why’d you put a ramen seasoning packet in with my tea? Erin just drank it!”
Also: And then her face when I told her our daughter’s name: Eleanor Ruth and our son Mills Colby.
I will love her always.
