Obituary of Billy Ray Thackston

Billy Ray Thackston, 65, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at his home.

He was born on May 13, 1953, in Woodruff, South Carolina to Sim and Gladys Thackston.

He is survived by his wife Joy L. Thackston; a son, Jamie Gault (Kim); two daughters, Haden Stone (David) and Scotti Thackston; ten grandchildren, Allie, Kristen, Drake, Colby, Dixie, Lana, Gabe, Jackson, Duke, and Paisley; eight great-grandchildren Emaly, Eithan,  Eian, Brantlee, Hunter, Caiden, Blayde ,and Averie, and his lifelong best friend, Mike Gault. 

He was Lead Foreman at M&M Scrap Yard for 13 years. He loved racing, motorcycles, Nascar, and westerns. He was a phenomenal husband, father, Papa, friend, and person.  He was loved by many and he will be greatly missed. 

Services for Mr. Thackston will be held 3pm, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
