Obituary of Cheryl Jo Gaines Duncan

Cheryl Jo Gaines Duncan, 72, widow of Rev. Paul David Duncan Jr., went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2019.

 

Mrs. Duncan was born in Seneca to the late Frank Eugene Gaines and Pat Ables Gaines.  She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.  She faithfully followed her husband throughout his ministry, including at Long Creek Baptist Church (Long Creek, SC), Madison Baptist Church (Westminster, SC), Mt. Hebron Baptist Church (Hartwell, GA), Bethesda Baptist Church (Spartanburg, SC) Davis Baptist Church (Seneca, SC), Bethuel Baptist Church (Greenville, SC), and Holly Springs Baptist Church (Westminster, SC).  Cheryl enjoyed cooking, being active in lady’s groups at church, and going to the beach.

 

Surviving are three sons, Myron Duncan and wife Amy, Kris Duncan and wife Diane, and Ken Duncan; and six grandchildren, Taylor Hames, Heather Duncan, Lauren Duncan, Chad Duncan, Mackenzie Duncan, and Andrew Duncan.  She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Gaines; and a sister, Wendell Foster.

 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Beulah Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Chris Bryan.  Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oconee Memorial Park (1923 Blue Ridge Blvd in Seneca).

 

Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 1762 Greenpond Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
