Obituary of Chris Matthews

Christopher Glenn Matthews, 38, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 4, 2019.

Chris was born in Greenville to Glenn Fredrick Matthews and Tammi Austin Barbour.  He enjoyed hiking and camping, but his greatest joy was being “Daddy Bug” to his “Lili Bug” and “Hayley Bug”.

Surviving ,in addition to his parents, are his two daughters, Lili “Lili Bug” Matthews Barbour and Hayley “Hayley Bug” Matthews Barbour; three brothers, Zack Matthews, Zachary Scott and Jonathan Barbour; four sisters, Victoria Matthews, Jordan Scott, Heather Scott and Spring Barbour; his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Elaine Bruce; his step-mother, Arianna Matthews and a niece, Naomi Barbour.  He was predeceased by his step-father, John Barbour and his paternal grandparents, Bill and Barbara Rose Matthews.

Memorial Services will be 1pm Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wells Fargo, Tammi Barbour for benefit for Lili and Hayley (1-800-TO-Wells) or bring a stuffed animal so his girls can donate them to a charity of their choice in honor of their dad.
