Obituary of Robert David Whitaker

Robert David Whitaker, 57, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 1, 2019.

Rob was born in Bristol TN to Robert L. Whitaker and Paula J. Whitaker.  He was a member of Mauldin First Baptist Church, a graduate of Camden Military Academy, with Dean’s list honors, and a member of the Who’s Who Among American High School Students. He worked for Sonoco Product as a Quality Engineer and for CF Sauer for a short period of time in manufacturing. He was an avid deer hunter and a motorcycle enthusiast.   Rob lived in a country home outside of Fountain Inn with his cat “Cooter”, who kept him company the last years of his life. He was a lifelong diabetic who succumbed to the side effects of the incurable disease.

Surviving, in addition to his parents are, a sister, Susan W. McMurry and husband Jody; a niece, Alexandra V. McMurry and a nephew, Collin K. McMurry.

Funeral Services will be 6pm Monday at Mauldin First Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
