Wendell Lewis Thackston, 78, husband of Judith “Judy” Eberhardt Thackston for 29 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2019.
Mr. Thackston was born in Simpsonville to the late Lewis Thackston and Kathleen Young Thackston. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He retired from J.D. Hollingsworth. Wendell was an avid gardener who absolutely loved growing and sharing tomatoes.
Surviving in addition to his wife Judy, is a son, Dan Carroll and his wife Kelly; two daughters, Catherine Adams and her husband Tony, and Jennifer Kammer; one brother Ted Thackston; and two grandchildren, Jake Carroll and Colt Adams.
Memorial services, with Military Honors, will be 1 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service with visitation immediately following.
Memorial may be made to Kindred Hospice, 15 Brendan Way Suite 100, Greenville SC 29615.
