I am heartbroken to hear of this. Dena and I worked together in Northern CA. We had stayed in touch and I saw her down in Florida in 2007. We continued to talk once or twice a year, but I had not heard from her in a while. I was looking her info up today, as I thought she went back to the Carolina's, and came across this.
If a family member could contact me, I would greatly appreciate some more information.
So sorry for your, and all of our, loss.

I am saddened to hear that Dena has passed. I first met her in fifth grade when I moved to Simpsonville. We were good friends through middle school and 9th grade. I moved north to the Chicago area and Dena came up here to visit me our senior year of high school and I took her snow skiing. She was such a natural. She was good at everything she did. My parents relocated in Georgia a few years after that and Dena and I reconnected once again while she was in Art School in Atlanta. I think that was the last time I physically saw Dena but we did keep in touch via email and snail mail. She always sent me such pretty Christmas cards and handmade ornaments! I actually commissioned 2 stained glass pieces from her in the past decade. Her work was beautiful! I had not heard form her in a few years and was recently informed from a mutual friend that she had just passed away. I just wanted to write a little something about her! Thinking of her boys and her family.
With deepest sympathy,
Susan Bland Andrews
