Brother Smith was my pastor at the Greer Church of God and was responsible in helping me into the man I am today. One of my fondest memories is him standing at the pulpit dressed in a black suit and says “Good evening, I’m Johnny Cash.” My father served as his clerk, and I could tell that Brother Smith was one of his favorites. Sister Smith, I am so sorry for your loss, but I am sure Daddy was one of the first to greet him at the pearly gates. Daddy will keep him busy until we see them again in our eternal home. I’ve added a picture of my family and one of Mom and Dad for you to see Sister Smith. We love you and miss you!

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of my dear friend and former pastor. Mot and I were privileged to know Charles and work closely with him at the Greer Church of God. Sorry I was not able to come for the funeral service, but you are all in my prayers and thoughts.

Such a great picture of Pastor. I will never forget his welcoming smile and sweet hugs. Larger than life and always cutting up....you always knew when he came in the room because he would light it up with his Southern Charm. He will be greatly missed by all but such a blessing to have known him and his family for over 30 years.
