Please share a memory of Dallas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dallas Elizabeth King, 88, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 3, 2020 and is now with her Heavenly Father and reunited with her loved ones and friends. Ms. King was born in Simpsonville to the late Harley Smith King and Margaret Elizabeth Jones King. She was a graduate of Simpsonville High School, 1950. Ms. King was a faithful servant and lifelong member of Clear Spring Baptist Church where she worked with the children and youth, sang in the choir, and played on the softball team for many years. She attended the Coed III Sunday School, a member of the Senior Adults and always looked forward to their fellowships. Ms. King never met a stranger and was always ready to witness and invite someone to church. Dallas was a Gamecock fan, a former Golden Senior Bowling League member and she loved all sports, especially basketball, football, baseball and softball. She was a former treasurer and member of the Hillcrest High School Booster Club and the scorekeeper for the HHS Rams Basketball for 50 years. The scoreboard in the gym is named the “Dallas King Scoreboard” in her honor. Ms. King worked for Barbara Coleman, Rico Knitting, Fabricating Metal Works and retired from Wright Metal Products. After retirement she went back to work as a Special Education Teacher’s Aide at Bryson Middle School. She also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels, while she was able, and she loved to send cards to people. Dallas is survived by many cousins, friends and special caregivers: Susan Fowler, Betsy Goodwin and Kaci Vaughn. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2 PM at Clear Spring Baptist Church with viewing one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be in the church cemetery. The family ask that attendee’s wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, Ms. Dallas request that memorials be made to Clear Spring Baptist Church, 301 Bethany Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or to Meals on Wheels of Greenville, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605. The family would like to thank everyone for your love and kindness shown to Dallas, especially since she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s several years ago.
