Obituary of Emily Elizabeth Hollifield Green

Emily Elizabeth Hollifield Green, 81, widow of Robert Tandy Green, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Mrs. Green was born in Ridgecrest, NC to the late Joseph Welsey Hollifield and Allie Reems Hollifield. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Emily loved sewing, gardening, Star Trek, her dog, puzzles and driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. She was a big fan of birdwatching, especially hummingbirds. Surviving is a son, James Wesley Green (Bobbie); a daughter, Tandy Rebecca “Becky” Thrift (Glenn); two grandchildren, Allie Lenora Thrift and Joseph Gideon Green; and numerous nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by two sisters, Orieta Hollifield Landreth and Lavina Holly Hollifield Herchak. The family will receive friends at 2pm Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm Friday, October 30, 2020, officiated by Rev. Sean McKaig.
