Obituary of William Scott Capps

William “Scott” Capps, 58, husband to Rhonda Capps for 32 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Scott was born in Greenville to Thursa Capps and the late Jack Capps. He was a lifelong member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Scott enjoyed fishing and was a member of Striper Kings of Greenville and the Roper Mountain Fishing Club. He was also a model airplane and general aviation enthusiast and was a member of the Western Carolina Radio Club, and Triple Tree Aerodrome. He loved children and serving in organized outreach programs for under privileged children. Scott was employed by SDS M&A in Spartanburg as a Project Manager. Scott had a heart of gold and will be missed by his family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are a son Brian Capps; brother, Eddie Capps (Christi); grandson, Xander Terry; nephew, Ross Capps (Kristen); niece, Ashton Capps (Ryan Whitaker). He was predeceased by his father, Jack Capps and a stepson, Chris Terry. An open casket public viewing will be 12-5pm Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service. (All Thursday services will be closed casket) Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday at Cross Roads Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Joey Estes and Rev. Jack Eason. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Scott’s two favorite past times were fishing and aviation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either of these charitable organizations for children which Scott was affiliated with: Annual Kids Fishing Tournament Benefit C/O Striper Kings of Greenville 333 Pinonwood Drive Simpsonville, SC 29680 Aviation Centered Education; (A.C.E.
