Bobby Joe Mahaffey Sr., 85, husband of Elizabeth Ann Taylor Mahaffey for 14 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
Mr. Mahaffey was born in Simpsonville to the late Furman Martin Mahaffey and Madgie Annie Sue Christopher Mahaffey. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He restored old cars and was an avid collector of antique toys. Bobby loved the lake and the outdoors, watching deer, and spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Bobby Mahaffey Jr. (Diana); a daughter, Mary Bagwell (Carlos); a step-son, Marrio Brashier (Sandra); a sister, Patsy Hartsell; six grandchildren, Autumn Shockley (Nick), Trey Mahaffey (Mary), Justin Bagwell (Megan), Brooke Beam (Chad), Evan Brashier and Ross Brashier; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife of 46 years, Judy Johnson Mahaffey; five brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Mahaffey will lie in repose from 11 am until 12:30 pm on Friday at Beulah Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 1 pm Friday in the church cemetery.
