Obituary of Lois Kyzer Cox Spires

Lois Victoria Kyzer Cox Spires, 84, widow of Lewis Samuel “L.S.” Spires, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Mrs. Spires was born in Leesville, SC to the late Miles Eugene Kyzer and Eula Katherine Shealy. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class. Lois enjoyed gardening, cooking and working in her greenhouse. Surviving are a son, Jerry Cox and wife Marjorie; a daughter, Frances Reid and husband Wayne; a stepson, Robert Spires and wife Katherine; two stepdaughters, Barbara Sox and husband Marion, and Linda Ritchie and husband Michael; three grandchildren, Lori Tidwell and husband Robbie, Alison Blanton and husband David, and Justin Reid and wife Samantha; five great-grandchildren, Reagan Tidwell, Hadley Tidwell, Arlington Blanton, Ansley Blanton and Breeland Blanton; many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren of the Spires family; and her beloved dog Riley. She was predeceased by her first husband, Van L. Cox, Jr., a stepson, Gary Spires; and her beloved dog Nacho. Funeral services will be 2 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service, followed by a private family graveside service. Please wear mask and practice social distancing during the service times. The family would like to extend a special Thanks to the caregivers at Fairview Park and Interim Hospice for the loving care given to Lois during her time there.
