Obituary of Steven Edmund Dix

Steven Edmund Dix, husband, father, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Gena and Steve Dix. Steven was born June 4th, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa. While in grade school, his family moved to Gardena, California. He attended Gardena High School where he met his beloved Bonnie. After graduating high school, Steven joined the United States Marine Corp and served in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he and Bonnie married and started their family which include four children - Jennifer, Christine, John, and Matthew. They raised their family in La Palma, California. Steven was very active in Indian Guides with his boys. He loved camping, going to amusement parks, movies, working in the yard, boating, cruises, but his greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and family. Steve worked for Vons grocery store for over 25 years as the manager. Later he took the opportunity to invest in Snap-on Tools where he had his own route for fifteen years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After retirement, he worked for Home Depot part-time. He and Bonnie moved to Simpsonville, South Carolina to enjoy retirement. They became members of Hillcrest Community Church. He was active in Bible Study Fellowship for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife are his four children, Daughter Jennifer Paulison (married to Chris) and grandchildren Greyson, Bryce, Isabella, Gavin, Gabriell, and great grandson Luke. Daughter Christine Jensen (married to Jeff) and grandson Colten. Son John Dix (married to Nicole) grandchildren Shaylen and Reed. Son Matthew Dix (married to Kathy) grandson Liam; three brothers, Daniel Dix, Ricky Dix, and Randy Dix His laugh, humor and love will be greatly missed. A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
