Obituary of John Edward Faulkner, Jr.

John Edward Faulkner Jr., 86, husband of Diane O’Rita Black Faulkner for 53 years, went to be with the Lord after an extensive struggle with his health on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Mr. Faulkner, known to his friends as Jef, was born in Nyack, NY to the late John Edward Faulkner and Viola Emily Volk Faulkner. Jef lived in Rockland County until September 2019, when he and Diane moved to South Carolina to be with their son and family. He was a 1952 graduate of Nyack High School and was proud to play for both the football and tennis team. Jef went on to attend Gettysburg College and Clarkson College. He was an avid Giant’s football fan. He was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Pearl River, NY and the Orangetown Rotary Club. He loved to travel and was blessed to have traveled all seven continents. His favorite destinations were Long Beach Island, NJ and the Cayman Islands. Jef retired as the owner and president of Faulkner Ford, a family-owned business in Rockland County for 63 years. His claim-to-fame was that he delivered vehicles to many famous people during his tenure. He was a season ticket holder to West Point football for 35 years. Jef was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and their wives, Robert and Kristie Faulkner, and Brett and Elizabeth Faulkner; a brother, Thomas Faulkner and wife Brenda; and three grandchildren, John Faulkner, Katherine Faulkner and Anna Clare Faulkner.
