Robert Emanuel Sears, 74, husband of Sharon Deanne Sears of Simpsonville, passed away peacefully in his home after an extended illness, on December 15th, 2016. Surviving in addition to his loving wife (Sharon) of 45 years; three sons, Dave Sears husband of Jennifer Hartwig Sears of Edmond, OK, Philip Sears of Edmond, OK, and Mike Sears of Spartanburg SC; and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jeremiah, Elijah, Austin, Savannah, and Olivia. Bob Sears was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Vicki Sears. He was an air traffic controller in the US Navy in the 1960’s. It was during his time in the Navy that he was given a Little Bible Ministry tract that led him to accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior. From the Navigators in Japan to the Gospel Ministry in Charleston, Bob was so proud to achieve his ordination certificate. Bob loved his church and Sunday school class at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fountain Inn. Bob had a variety of jobs from carpentry, sporting goods manager, security supervisor, & transporting troubled children just to name a few. Celebration of Life Services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday December 20th, 2016. Visitation will start at 1pm followed by the service at 2pm, officiated by Senior Pastor Phil Whitt. Burial will be at Cannon Memorial Park in Fountain Inn. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1279 S Frontage Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
