Obituary of Wanda Tiller Asbell

Wanda Payne Tiller Asbell,84, wife of 15 years to Ray Asbell, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Mrs. Asbell was born in Altoona, AL to the late Newell Grady Payne and Leola Mae Smith Payne. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church where she loved helping and serving others. She enjoyed gardening and jigsaw puzzles. In her retired years she and Ray had the opportunity to visit all 50 states. Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother, Alvis Payne and wife Diane ; one granddaughter, Angela Cody and husband Terry; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Wages, and Jaryn Wages; two nieces, Sonya Cook and Elaine Hughes and husband Don; two stepsons, Steve Asbell and wife Angela, and Jeff Asbell and wife Kari; five step-grandchildren, Brandon Asbell and wife Gibson, Megan Baldree and husband Joseph, Makayla Asbell, Kaylin Saldana and husband Sergio, and Sean Harbin; one step great-grandchild, Kason Saldana. She was predeceased by her first husband, Buddy Tiller; a daughter, Teresa Tiller Splawn; and a sister, Mavis Payne Scruggs. The family will receive friends 12:30-2pm Saturday at Faith Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be 2pm Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Greg Ince. Burial will be 1pm Monday at Samuels Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Altoona, AL. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 906 Highway 14 Simpsonville, SC 29681.
