Obituary of Tommy E King

Tommy E. King, 85, husband of the late Nancy Eleanor Cox King, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Mr. King was born in Fountain Inn to the late William Broadus King and Idell Sims King. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and the Coach House Fountain Inn High School class of 1954 club. Tommy met his brothers and friends every morning at BoJangles for their breakfast group. He enjoyed spending time with family and relished being “PaPa” to his grandkids. Surviving are a son, Neil King; two daughters, Sally Marshbanks and husband Ron, and Debbie Lanzone; three brothers, Olin King, Johnny King, and Earl King and wife Sharon; five grandchildren, Gina Gatlin and husband Mike, Joey Lanzone and wife Amanda, Toni Rae Nettles and husband James, Austin Marshbanks and wife Anna, and Addy Marshbanks; and two great-grandchildren, Remi Gatlin and Marci Gatlin. He was predeceased by a brother, J.C. King; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Everett and Virginia Sullivan. A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will be 2 o’clock Monday at Five Forks Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
