Obituary of James "Frank" Wickliffe, Jr

James Franklin “Frank” Wickliffe, Jr., 74, husband of Sarah McKeowen Wickliffe for 40 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Mr. Wickliffe was born in Greenville to the late James Franklin Wickliffe, Sr., and Nelle Erwin Hester Wickliffe. He was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and the owner of Wickliffe Insurance. Frank was a graduate of the Palmetto Military Academy and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member and past president of both the Fountain Inn Rotary Club and the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed the lake and water sports of all kinds. He was an avid reader with a talent for planning, drawing and building home projects. Frank loved to tinker and one of his favorite projects was the refurbishment of an old army jeep for farm chores. He never turned down a good cup of coffee and was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and their wives, James and Beth Wickliffe III, and Jeffrey and Laura Wickliffe; a daughter, Jennifer Wickliffe; and a sister, Linda Miller. He was predeceased by three brothers, Mike Wickliffe, Harry Wickliffe, and Jimmy Wickliffe; and two sisters, Bobbie Nell Moore and June Clark. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be 11 o’clock Wednesday at Fairview Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church, P.O.
