Obituary of Carolyn Amos Pirkle
Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carolyn Ann Amos Pirkle, 75, widow of Howard Clifford Pirkle, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
She was born in Morganton, NC to the late James William Amos and Mary Sue Causby Amos.
She retired from Michelin after 32 years. She had a strong work ethic and loved her work family. She is known for her baking, and brought her cakes and pies to every occasion. She enjoyed her time with her work friends and love putting together arrangements for Jean, Bonnie, Brenda, Joyce and Delottie to have ladies nights.
Carolyn was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, and had a strong faith. She loved the Lord and it was apparent in her every day life.
Carolyn was an adoring and supportive mother to Mandy and Shawn Cutting of Simpsonville, Ken and Mikki Pirkle of Easley, Shane and Dawn Pirkle of Ware Shoals. She was always willing to listen and give wisdom to any situation. She adored her eight grandchildren, Myranda Cutting, Haylee Cutting, Cody Pirkle, Connor Pirkle, Aaron Pirkle, Ashlie Jeffries, Presslee Shepard and Danielle Caldwell. She loved visits with them and always encouraged to be their very best. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Amos and Bill Amos; and a sister, Winifred Mangam.
Carolyn loved people and caring for others. If anyone needed her, she was there. She would be bringing a meal or one of her fabulous cakes and pies. She was an amazing Southern cook. She was always willing to open her home to those in need, and has done so more than one occasion. Anyone welcomed to her home was treated as family.
She had a heart for service and was always willing to help. When she was your friend, you knew it and she showed it well. .
This world will not be the same without her, but definitly a better place because of her. Carolyn will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be at 2 o’clock Thursday at Hope Church in Simpsonville. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. In leu of flowers, friends and family can make a donation in her name to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
