Obituary of Barbara Norwood Taylor

Barbara Norwood Taylor, 87, widow of Richard Taylor, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Mrs. Taylor was born in Pelzer, SC to the late William Paul Norwood and Onie Hamby Norwood. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and Red Hat Society. Barbara served as a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking Christmas goodies and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving, is a son, Dale Taylor; daughter, Gail Mitchum with husband Brad; two sisters, Evelyn Mahaffey and Tina Schofield with husband Dan; four grandchildren, Derek Taylor with wife Austin, Lindsay Norwood with husband Kris, Bradley Mitchum with wife Jenna and Haley Smith with husband Kevin; ten great-grandchildren, Landon Wood, Avery Smith, Hayden Taylor, Graham Smith, Sadie Taylor, Pailyn Norwood, Presley Mitchum, Hadley Mitchum, Braxton Mitchum and Holden Mitchum. She was predeceased by two brothers, Larry Norwood and Heyward Norwood; and a great-granddaughter, Holland Grace Taylor. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be 11am Friday at Beulah Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Chris Bryan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
